Has anyone taken out a loan recently? With all of the banks having problems are they being really tight or is it still OK as long as you have income and equity in a house? I'm talking UN-secured loans, not a loan against my house.

I've found that loans are still available, despite what the media is reporting, and the way people are feeling. Yes, they are rejecting more people that they have in the recent past, but I'll bet that most of these are "sub-prime", who would have been allowed in the past.

If you have a regular income, manageable outgoings etc. then you won't have a problem. The fact that people who can't afford a loan can't get them anymore is actually a GOOD step for the loan companies!
